Jo was so helpful in organising the times available which from previous experience is the hardest things about wanting a holiday. We stayed in Palm Cove and we were able to have our first family holiday. We love the area and will be booking another holiday this time next year. Thanks again team Ramsay Health at Cairns Private!

This 5 chair unit is managed by a very experienced nurses and assistants. The attention to detail could not be bettered and this combined with a daily visit by a specialist doctor made the experience one to remember. I have been 3 times and again I am booked in for 2019. Meals can be ordered and morning and afternoon tea is served. Book early or you will not get your desired dates.

Visited in 2009 and 2016. Pretty good experience, efficient unit. The only problem experienced was that they were inflexible about me using my home dialysis protocol.

My first tropical dialysis was way back in 2010, in the classic Cairns Private hospital - and it was fine. It started about a half an hour after I arrived and was without incident. It was a homey unit, with five older-style seats and fairly old Baxter machines that mostly did the job. All the other dialysers were visitors like me, which seems to be the norm. This was one of those times when you realise that you really are in a club with a large and diverse membership. From all over the country and the world, we all go through the same thing, hit the same roadblocks and have many of the same highs and lows. It is certainly not difficult to be part of the group, either chatting or in silence. On a more recent visit in 2016, things have been spruced up considerably. The unit is larger, more modern and pretty slick, just like any big city dialysis unit. As an added bonus, on the day I was there, I was the only patient, so I was very spoilt, especially as the nurse was an old friend from down south :). Snacks available, but no meals. But who cares? I'm looking forward to going troppo again - soon.
